Hundreds of runners of different ages participated in the  “University Fun Run for a Cause” last November 20.  The first-ever 3km running event on campus  was organized by the University Library  as kick off ceremony of the celebration of the 6th National Book Week with its theme “Pandaigdigang Pakikipag-ugnayan sa Pamamagitan ng mga Aklat at Impormasyong Teknolohiya at Komunikasyon.” “It is also aimed to promote reading awareness and raise fund to buy more books,” said Mrs. Zoraida Bartolome, university librarian.

Of the 315 registered participants 175 were students while 146 were professionals. Dr. Ruben C. Sevilleja, university president; and Dr. Danilo G. Tan, vice president for academic affairs; were among the administrators who supported the said activity.

“We were able to reach out and invite our friends, students, faculty and staff and even our administrators to the activities. We want to promote better  the use of the library and to persuade everybody to make reading as a habit,” Mrs. Bartolome, the University librarian also said.
